Why Ethical Leadership is a Key to Success
I live and work in Northern Palm Beach County, Fl. As a small business owner I face many challenges, both financially and ethically. Every time I turn on the TV or open a paper it seems there is some new crisis. Just when I think I’ve seen it all, something else crops up to dominate the 24 hour news cycle. Currently Haiti has bumped Tiger Woods and Mark McGuire from the front page. Failures in ethics seem to underly just about every crisis. Here in North Palm Beach County, I’m involved with something called Impact Leadership Network. ILN for short. ILN was conceived by Pastor Tom Mullins and leadership author, Dr. John C. Maxwell as an outreach to the business community. We used to meet at the Palm Beach County Convention Center. We’ve recently moved to the North Campus of Christ Fellowship Palm Beach Gardens. ILN was initiated to bring leadership values and principles to the Palm Beach County business community.
We bring in a world class leader for a 7am breakfast. We ask them to speak on subjects relevant to the current business climate. Most recently we had Jerry Anderson, a successful businessman from Ohio speak to us about ethics and morals in the business arena. He’s started over 20 businesses in his career. Most of them failed until he embraced principles and values from the wisest man who ever lived, Solomon. These principles, he soon discovered, are foundational to a successful enterprise. Things like honesty, responsibility, restraint and 37 other principles. You can check out his story at www.lared.org.
On February 17, our next speaker is Herman Boone, the legendary coach from the movie Remember the Titans. For more info and tickets go to www.impactleadershipnetwork.com.
